Learning outcome 5:
Employ ICT to facilitate student learning and decision making and provide opportunities for students to be engaged in activities which are self-regulating and cooperative.
The link below is directed to a Prezi presentation by Jim Cash which explain THE SAMR MODEL.
THR SAMR MODEl was introduced in Week 6 learning and has assisted my understanding of how to use technologies in the classroom.
Through the SAMR model and the Prezi presentation I reflected upon the following points during my learning.
- How technology acts as a 'direct tool substitute'
- How technology allows for 'functional improvement'
- How technology shifts from the original design of a task
- How technology can inspire creativity of new tasks
- How technology acts as a 'tool substitute' with no functional change of the original task

ipad apps & ICT resources which have been collated throughout the unit:
NearpodNearpod is an iPad application which I found when researching apps that allow students to collaborate in the classroom. It allows teachers to create interactive multimedia presentations/lessons and share them with the class on their own iPad. Students can interact with the lesson and data is accumulated from the individuals responses. This data can then be monitored by the teacher. This is an application I will use in the classroom to enhance students learning by providing them with an interactive space which I can effectively monitor.

class dojoThis resource can be used by teachers to facilitate student decision making. I have used this while on practicum as a behaviour management tool which allowed me to reward or deduct points from individual students according to their behaviour and participation in the classroom. The student who has the most points is then rewarded at the end of the week.

MathleticsMathletics is an iPad app that gives each students their own personal mathematic learning space. The application is filled with curriculum content from K-12. Through this application the teacher can set tasks to each individual student according to their learning level. I have used this application on two placements which I have been on and found it incredibly reward to the individual learning experience.
